Corin Forest is a small alpine resort at 1200 metres altitude and only 25kms from the southern suburbs of Canberra and about 50kms from the CBD. Although it doesn’t have accommodation and a village like most resorts, it attracts visitors year-round for a range of High Country activities and experiences on Canberra’s doorstep.

In Winter, beginner skiing and snowboarding and fantastic snowplay facilities are available. The slope features a ‘magic carpet’ surface lift to take you back to the top. Tobogganing, beginner lessons, equipment and waterproof jacket & pants hire are all available.  As space is limited, bookings are recommended. Helmets are required for using the ski/snowboard area and can be hired.

Snow guns and an all-weather snow making machine help top up the natural snow coverage, allowing visitors to enjoy a Winter wonderland a little earlier in the season and helping the snow last longer if it hasn’t been quite cold enough. A café opens daily with a menu including wood fired pizzas and there’s a cosy fireplace to warm up beside.  There’s onsite parking for around 250 cars and snow chains are not required (by law) to be carried by vehicles travelling to Corin Forest. The road is cleared of snow as required and will occasionally be closed in order to clear it quickly and then allow cars to proceed.

Outside of the snow season there’s plenty to enjoy about Corin Forest with facilities open every weekend and during ACT school and public holidays. There’s the café and the 1.2km long alpine slide bobsled, bushwalking, cycling, picnic facilities and nearby camping.

This part of the High Country features spectacular tall forests and camping is available at Woods Reserve Campground, just off Corin Road, around 7kms before reaching Corin Forest. This is an excellent camping facility featuring BBQ’s, hot showers, toilets, disabled access facilities and the campground is available on a first come first served basis.
