Charlotte Pass is a small alpine resort located within Kosciuszko National Park and is the highest alpine resort in Australia and the only resort to be snowbound in Winter, so there are no cars, generally no crowds or long lift queues. The road is closed from Perisher Alpine Resort to Charlotte Pass during the ski season and often a little longer, depending on snow conditions. Charlotte Pass operate an oversnow transport service from the Perisher Valley Skitube Terminal. If staying at Charlotte Pass overnight you need to park at Bullock’s Flat Skitube Terminal as there is no overnight parking at Perisher Valley. Bus transport is another option, from Jindabyne to Perisher.
There are accommodation options and a small number of cafes, restaurants and bars. Skiing and snowboarding lessons (group and private) are available, as is being part of Kosi Kids, a snowsports program for children aged between 3-13 years with AM, PM and full day programs for skiing and snowboarding. Daytripper passes are available for this just going for the day and you have the choice to include either a lift pass, return oversnow transport and hot lunch or 2.5 hour guided snowshoe tour, return oversnow transport and a picnic lunch. Outside of the ski season, Charlotte Pass is a great base for exploring the Main Range and Kosciuszko National Park on foot or bike and at these times you can generally drive to the village.
