WEATHER – BUSHFIRES – FLOODS

Parks Victoria for Bushfire Safety information and Fire or Flood affected National & State Parks.

State Emergency Service of Victoria is the control agency during emergency responses to floods, storms, earthquakes and tsunamis in Victoria.  The ‘Warnings’ link also includes information about:

• The ‘Emergency Alert’ phone or text message
• The Standard Emergency Warning Signal which may be broadcast on radio, tv, or public places such as shopping centres or sports grounds
• Community Sirens

In Victoria the Official Emergency Broadcasters will broadcast information during emergencies direct from Emergency Services. 

In New South Wales follow these links for Weather, Bushfire and Flood information:

Bureau of Meteorology for current weather, forecasts and warnings.

Emergency NSW for current bushfire and emergency information, including preparing for and recovering from bushfire.  The ‘For The Community’ tab has further information on:

• The ‘Emergency Alert’ phone or text message
• The Standard Emergency Warning Signal which may be broadcast on radio, tv, or public places such as shopping centres or sports grounds

NSW Rural Fire Service provides information relating to current bushfire incidents, hazard reduction burns and planning and preparing for bushfire.

The National Parks and Wildlife Service has Bushfire Safety information relating to National Parks & Reserves.

The NSW State Emergency Service main responsibility is for emergency responses to floods, storms and tsunamis.

In NSW & the ACT, emergency information will be broadcast on ABC Local Radio & Television during emergencies direct from Emergency Services.  A helpful link to find the ABC Radio Station frequency of the area you require, can be found HERE
