The word ‘snow’ often means different things to different people. For some who have never seen snow and dream of going to the High Country to walk in it, build a snowman and maybe if they’re lucky enough, to have big soft snowflakes falling down around them, the word ‘snow’ creates a sense of mystery and excitement. On some days, snowflakes are literally like we see graphic designers create, or like we may have cut from paper at school, perfectly symmetrical and fascinating to observe as they land. That moment when you first see them in that perfect state, created by nature, is a real surprise!
For others who are regulars to the snow, that simple word might make them think of being out on their favourite run after a blizzard, sending the snow flying with every turn and finding themselves disappearing momentarily into a cloud of powder! Snow is something that for those who love it, they eagerly anticipate the first dusting in the High Country each year and count down the days till they stand amongst it once again.
Alpine resorts in Victoria, New South Wales and the ACT range from small resorts suited to beginners and snowplay, right through to world class, complete Winter holiday destinations. Take a moment to view this video that outlines the Alpine Responsibility Code. It is the responsibility of each visitor to the snow to understand the Code, which are really a set of rules that must be adhered to when on the slopes and throughout the resorts. This video is produced by Mt Hotham Alpine Resort, but the Code remains the same across all Australian resorts.
