RUNNING CREEK CASTLE
KANCOONA
Running Creek Castle is located 20kms from Dederang and about 30kms from Tawonga. It was built in six stages over a 30 year period and incorporates impeccable detail combined with materials of historical significance. 1.5 tonne of exposed beams from the Hume Weir Bridge, the original copper spire from St Matthew’s Church in Albury, old French terracotta roof tiles and numerous original stain glass windows. These are only some of the original features of the castle, which contribute to this intriguing architectural artifice.
The castle offers two fully self-contained suites. Each suite has a private external entrance on the ground floor and consists of two bedrooms, lounge, kitchen & private bathroom, while the main bedroom is a loft. The loft bedroom sleeps two, the lower bedroom sleeps four (a double tri-bunk and one single bed), plus there is a queen-sized sofa bed in the lounge on the middle level.
Each suite can potentially sleep eight guests. The suites are gas heated for optimum guest comfort on chilly Alpine nights and all beds are fitted with electric blankets. Quality linen is included. Suites have ceiling fans for extra comfort during warm evenings. Foxtel television is also available in each suite.
