Sleeping up to 12 adults, this large pole-house is a 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom executive residence in Sawmill Settlement. Only two minutes from the Mt Buller/Stirling gate, this mountain hideaway is beautifully appointed with fine furnishings, original artworks, and quality linen. Built over 3 levels it has been designed to cater for several families in the one home. Under soaring cathedral ceilings, the crackling wood-fire is the heart of the open plan cooking/dining/living space.

The master bedroom is separate from other bedrooms and has its own bathroom and deck area. Three other bedrooms on the second/third levels are serviced by a separate toilet, bathroom and second lounge, making it a great place for the kids to hang out. The backyard is built for entertaining with a cosy fire-pit and garden deck, plus there are chickens providing you with fresh eggs daily, fruit trees, and extensive landscaping.

This non-smoking property is ideal for couples looking for a secluded romantic setting, for several families who enjoy quality and space, or for groups who wish to share all that this property has to offer. Bring the kids, they will love it! During the non-winter months the Lodge operates as a B&B for couples, while during winter it is a whole house rental.

Our kitchen has everything from coffee plungers and chef’s knives to a slow cooker, bread maker and food processor. A range of basic pantry goods is also provided. The Lodge is home to king parrots, kookaburras and crimson rosellas, and if you are an early riser you may see grey kangaroos and deer browsing in the surrounding forest.

During winter Mount Buller lifts and Mount Stirling trails are only 20 mins away, providing magnificent ski runs and cross country trails for all levels. Summer provides more adventure with fishing, hiking, wineries, pubs, 4WDing, mountain biking, road cycling and horse trail and trail bike riding at our door step. Finish off with a dip in the Delatite River only 5 mins walk away.

There are 2 B&B rooms available during the non-winter months accommodating up to 5 guests. Bedroom 1 is a roomy Queen bedroom with separate bathroom and direct access to a sundeck. The second bedroom comprises a QB and a single bed with its own separate bathroom and lounge. Breakfasts are memorable when eaten on the deck among the parrots. A standard breakfast comprises our own eggs, plus sourdough bread, and bacon or fresh greens (if vegetarian).

This private sanctuary is located in the high country with immediate access to some of the best mountain bike (including Australia’s only Epic Trail) and downhill/cross country skiing trails. Owned by a keen bushwalker, the local trails including the Epic Trail are at your doorstep. The Lodge features trail maps and can provide local advice. There is a drying room for winter sports and a bike wash and secure bike storage for the cyclist. This is a Bike Friendly business.
