LONG TUNNEL EXTENDED GOLD MINE

Take a tour of the Long Tunnel Extended Gold Mine and uncover the mine’s history, along with the history of Walhalla. This mine has a history going back to the 1860’s, which you will learn about during this informative and entertaining tour. During the 1890’s the mine produced more gold than any other mine in Victoria and by the time mining ceased it had produced 13.7 tonnes of gold.

Mine tours take about 50 minutes and are conducted along flat ground accessible by wheelchairs and Children’s strollers and areas accessed are well lit and ventilated.

Tours take place at 1.30pm every day of the year and also at 12pm & 3pm on Weekends, Public and School Holidays. Closed Christmas Day.
