Located in the upper reaches of Victoria’s King Valley, the Chrismont Cellar Door, Restaurant and Larder is an award-winning culinary centrepiece where visitors can experience wine tasting and casual Italian dining while enjoying some of the most breathtaking views the region has to offer.
Since the first Chrismont vine was planted in 1980, owners Arnie and Jo have become known for producing diverse interpretations of Mediterranean and classic European varietals from their cool-climate vineyards in Cheshunt and Whitfield.
Like grapes and wine, hospitality is also in their blood, which inspired the 2015 opening of a state-of-the-art food and wine centrepiece on a ridge of their breathtaking Upper King Valley estate.
This hugely popular travel destination brings the food of Jo’s Sicilian and Arnie’s northern Italian backgrounds together with their contemporary line-up of Chrismont, La Zona and Riserva wines, earning it Gourmet Traveller WINE magazine’s ‘Cellar Door with Best Food’ in 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2022.
A winner of the coveted National Building Design of the Year Award (2016), the complex boasts contemporary interior and sleek, sophisticated architecture, making it an impressive space for visitors torelax while enjoying its spectacular views of the King Valley and surrounding Black Ranges.
Chrismont also offers elegant guesthouse accommodation set amongst the vines of its estate and located just minutes away from the natural beauty of Paradise Falls and Lake William Hovell, and a few hours drive from Melbourne. It’s an idyllic base for wine and food lovers to explore the region or settle in for the night after a wine tasting or lunch at the Cellar Door, Restaurant and Larder just a few minutes stroll away.
