Beechworth is renowned for its well-preserved, historic streetscape and authentic experiences that transport us to the 1800’s.  In the heart of this magnificent town, in the original printing press building, a restoration has taken place and Billson’s Soda Bar is bringing back old-fashioned fun with a range of beverages all served by a smiling bartender!  Visitors of all ages love the choices, from ice cream spiders, sodas, sophisticated mocktails and milkshakes, to hot chocolate, coffee and tea.

The delicious and unique flavours found in Billson’s Soda Bar are all created about 600m away at the historic brewery of Billson’s Beechworth, which was founded in 1865 by George Billson.  At the brewery there’s a family-friendly menu of burgers and grazing boards and meals can be enjoyed from 12-5pm in the Taproom, Speakeasy Bar and Beer Garden.

“It’s such fun to welcome visitors, and watch their faces light up when they taste our drinks,” says Hospitality Manager, Sam Whitfield. “For younger folks, it’s their first time tasting a spider! And for others, the traditional taste of Sarsaparilla or Creamy Soda brings back memories from their childhood. It’s a real joy to exchange stories and share those memories with visitors.”

During the cooler months, sit by the open fireplace.  There’s cosy booth seating and bar stools or take your drinks away as you step back in time and stroll the streets of Beechworth.
