Billson’s Brewery is open 7 days a week from 9am to 5pm. Take a trip down memory lane, explore the Brewery Museum or sample the extensive range of gourmet cordials. This is an experience for the entire family!
Established in 1865 at the height of Beechworth’s Gold Rush, the historic heritage-listed Billson’s Brewery has been producing premium beverages for more than 150 years.
The brewery site was specifically chosen because the original owner, George Billson Snr, had discovered a pure, natural spring flowing all the way from Mount Buffalo. Billson’s pure mountain water has been used in all Billson’s beverages ever since.
Once brewer of popular beer, stout and soft drinks, Billson’s now specialises in gourmet cordials of long forgotten flavours, made based on traditional recipes and methods. The brewery small batch cordial production soared in the 1920’s due to the Temperance Movement against alcohol. There are over ten unique flavours to choose from, including traditional Sarsaparilla and Portello.
Delve into over 150 years of Billson’s tradition by visiting the Brewery Museum. It displays an impressive collection of old brewing equipment, bottles and beer paraphernalia. We also showcase horse-drawn carriages dating back to the 1900’s on behalf of the National Trust of Victoria.
